Commissioning a painting is a beautiful way to commemorate a person, animal, or memory in a way that will be treasured forever.
I can work with you to complete a painting of pretty much anything. The key to success is having great reference photos to work from, and open and clear communication about your expectations.

Whether it’s a portrait of your child, a family portrait that will be an heirloom for generations, or a painting to memorialize a person you are missing, I can work with you to make a beautiful painting honoring that person. Pricing is depending on complexity of image, size, and the number of people in the painting.

Pricing depends on the size of the painting, complexity of the image, and the number of animals in the painting. The above is a commissioned portrait of a beloved cat for an owner who eventually got a painting of each of her beloved cats.

We’re not limited to people and animals. I can paint a place that holds a special spot in your heart, your favorite kind of bird, your childhood home, or whatever you can imagine.

How it works
The first step is to determine the subject matter and the size. That will determine the price for the project. Prices range greatly starting at $200 for a simple 5” x 7” pet portrait, to $2,000+ for a large scale full family portrait.
Next I will ask you for reference photos of your subjects. Having a high quality, well lit photo reference will make it possible to create a beautiful painting.
Once we agree on the size, price, and reference photos, we will sign a contract.
3/4 of the price will be due as a non-refundable deposit when I start the painting and the remainder will be due upon completion. There will be additional shipping fees if you are not local to the area. I do not share photos of the commission in process, but will send photos of it when it is complete.
You are able to request small changes to the final painting if needed, but will be charged for any large adjustments requested. If the commission is an oil painting, additional drying time will be required before it can be varnished and shipped.
The deposit for the painting is non-refundable.
